Rural Kenya

While exploring Kenya, I spent a lot of time on the road, driving between different locations through vastly changing landscapes.

From eclectic roadside markets, unusual traffic incidents and the Great Rift Valley; rural Kenya sometimes proved better than the main attractions.

First view of the Great Rift Valley

A transport truck went off the mud road, on the detour.. so there were no more detours.

One of the many “traffic jams” along the way

I’m not sure of the purpose of these bottles (perhaps just to make the fence more visible/effective), but I really liked this solution to the lack of recycling programs.

That’s a lot of onions! What are you to do with all those onions?

Could all those bottles be there for collecting rain water or condensation?
