The Bosphorus : A Photo Essay

The Bosphorus is a strait that runs directly through the heart of Istanbul, Turkey. Europe lies to the West, and Asia to the East.

There are two bridges that connect the continents, which provide a very special moment as you cross over them. For a split second, you will be within two continents at the same time. There are not very many places in the world where this is possible.

The Bosphorus is a staple to life in Istanbul, and can be seen from most points in the city. It provides many great attractions and activities, and supports a busy international shipping route. To describe Istanbul in one sentence, could not be done without mentioning The Bosphorus Strait.

Here is a photo essay of my time spent in and around the Bosphorus Strait.

I have a question about the first picture – did you add that moon to the image? I don’t think it’s possible to take that picture otherwise. A stunning photo either way.
