In the far South of the Caribbean Sea lies a stretch of uninhabited and exquisite sandy beach lapped by the most kaleidoscopic waters you will ever see.
Located just off the paradise shores of the Island of Tobago, near the Bon Accord Lagoon; this unique beach is called No Man’s Land.
The Bon Accord Lagoon is fringed by mangrove wetlands and an important habitat for many species of bird.
Because of this wetland the whole area is accessible only by boat, making it popular destination for Island boat tours and snorkelling.
However, there are no permanent settlements here and it is void of commercialization.
It truly is a no man’s land.
No Man’s Land isn’t an island, rather a spit of white coral-sand stretching out in front of the lagoon.
The spit is surrounded by clear shallow water and speckled with leafy trees and small forest growth on either side of a long path that makes up the dance floor to dozens of brightly coloured dragonflies .
It is easily one of the most beautiful spots in all of Tobago, second perhaps to Nylon Coral Pool which is situated in the Sea directly in front of it.
So, what’s better than visiting a deserted, white-sand, palm-fringed beach?
Having a BBQ lunch on a deserted, white-sand, palm-fringed beach and relaxing in the shade from the heat of the afternoon sun.
With plenty of rum punch, of course.
The buffet BBQ lunch consisted of several choices of pasta salad and rices, vegetables and assorted meats including chicken.
Once I gobbled up my plate full I decided to do a little exploring.
I ducked into hidden low hanging trails that lead to secret beaches and wandered the main path down the spit where I met several skeptical lizards that quickly scampered off beneath the under brush.
While wading in the warm shallow Sea I was tempted to poke a hole in the boat so I could stay there forever.
I probably should have done it.
Have you ever been to a deserted beach?

This trip was made possible by Trinidad & Tobago.

Deserted beaches: YES YES YES! I’ve been to a couple in South East Asia and the Caribbean. They’re the best! Trinidad&Tobago are in my top 15 travel wish list! “No man’s land” looks amazing! And the rum punch is just the icing on the cake!
