Philippiiiiiineeees.
I just decided to try and take this whole video thing a little more seriously, as I finally have some proper equipment and editing software. I’ve made some videos in the past, but they were usually just shot & edited on my iPhone.
This video fits nearly three weeks in the Philippines into a four minute video montage of beaches, whales, sunsetporn, Nemo, noodles, hammocks, flaming booze, SHARKS, coconuts, mystical tunnels and Fishnadoes.
Enjoy. “Also, be sure to check out cheap flights from Singapore to Manila” as you can get some great deals here.
Special Thanks to:
Club Paradise Palawan // Basically the entire first part of the video is from our stay at Club Paradise. It was my favourite place in the Philippines, and the whole trip was video-worthy. Scenes include the beach villas, sharks, snorkelling through the tunnel, sea turtle, most drone shots, the sand island, and the ending hammock scene. I could have easily made a 10 minute video from this place alone, so I might just have to make another one later on.
Coron Soleil Resort //Our favourite food in the Philippines was at Coron Soleil’s restaurant so scenes include the delicious pancit canton and coconut soup. We also booked an Island hopping tour from the hotel, so scenes of all Coron sites are from there, like Twin Lagoon (the underwater tunnel), Barracuda Lake, NEMOS!, those crazy jagged sea cliffs, etc.
The District Hotel // Scenes from the District include lounging on White Beach in Boracay and views from the rooftop restaurant at sunset, through the palm trees. I only wish I could have included our amazing massages at the spa!
The Strand Boracay // While I didn’t include scenes from the resort itself, we spent plenty of time at the beach during our stay, and got lots of Boracay goodness in there. All of the trike shots were trips to and from here as well.
Sofitel Manila // The opening scene with the palm trees was recorded as I hung upside down in a swinging cocoon chair by the ocean. The Sofitel was definitely the fanciest place we stayed, and I loved every minute of it.
Island Trek Tours // Those beautiful whale sharks were brought to you by these guys, and as you can imagine, it was pretty magical in person. They are the right ones to get you to the whale sharks of Oslob.
Scenes also shot at: Spider House, Boracay’s Stations 1, 2, and 3, and Diniwid Beach.
I’ve been using Vimeo to upload videos in the past, so my YouTube channel is a bit of a ghost town, but I’m going to start uploading there instead. Keep an eye out for more videos soon.
